Bach’s Actus Tragicus (Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit) is among his most intimate and moving works, scored for chorus, recorders, gambas, and continuo. Paired with contemporary music by Jennifer Lucy Cook, Ola Gjeilo, Adolphus Hailstork, Shavon Lloyd, and Tarik O’Regan, this program explores loss and longing while affirming resilience, hope, and renewal.
